I've recently finished work on the illustrations for a book called
'Smasheroo', about a child living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
Here are Poppy and Ajay...
And here is Poppy dressed-up for a party...
The book was commissioned byThe Jennifer Trust, a UK charity
dedicated to supporting people affected by SMA.
I'll post more of the illustrations on here
once the book has been published.

This must have been an interesting project to research and illustrate.
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to see new images here. I've missed dipping into your latest blog posts. Welcome back from the work cave!
Hi June - can't tell you how great it was to come out of the cave - feel like I've been down there for months!
ReplyDeleteThe book was a lovely one to do, although the wheelchairs were a challenge (they were previously on my hard-to-draw list, along with horses, cars and motorbikes)- feel a little more confident at drawing them now, so will try to include them more generally...
Always, you do a very sweet illustrations.
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteHas this book been published yet??
Thanks,
Jessica
